The Scunthorpe Lions have been raising money since 1964 and have given over £1m back into community groups, projects and individuals in need. Our motto is ‘We Serve’ and that is exactly what we do.
We are volunteers who donate our time and energy to raising money from within the Scunthorpe area to be given back to the people in our local communities who need it the most. We believe in raising community spirit and bringing people together in times of need.
Some of the projects and places we have contributed to are The Health Tree Foundation, Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Scunthorpe General Hospital. We also take groups of disadvantaged and SEND children and adults to the pantomime each year and make regular donations of cuddly toy lions to Scunthorpe General Hospital’s A&E department and Disney Children’s Ward that they can give to the children they treat. Anyone can apply to us for financial support, as long as they live or are based in the Scunthorpe area.

Scunthorpe Lions have teamed up with Winterton Lions, Glanford & Lindsey Lions and Brigg & District Lions to provide a supply of soft toys for those Children who find themselves in Hospital. Bravery Lions are available at A&E and on the Disney ward and are a wonderful comfort toy for children who are in the unfortunate position of being hospitalised. We hope these bravery Lions bring a smile and help in difficult times.
